Overview

Recently, Sanimalia Veterinary Clinic team from Belgium, the first Belgian V-Clamp training traveled all the way to Shanghai to participate in the V-Clamp training. Over the course of three days, they successfully completed an intensive program that seamlessly combined hands-on practice with theoretical coursework, showcasing their dedication and enthusiasm for advancing veterinary care.
Sanimalia Veterinary Clinic, established in 2013, has its roots in the former St. Katharina Veterinary Practice in Hasselt. The clinic’s name reflects its mission, combining "SANI" (healthy) and "ANIMALIA" (animals). As a leading veterinary clinic dedicated to companion animals, Sanimalia provides comprehensive care for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and more. Their services span from routine care to advanced diagnostics and treatments, guided by their motto: "For Healthy Animals – SANIMALIA."Dedicated to excellence, the clinic stays at the forefront of veterinary medicine by embracing the latest medications, techniques, and innovations. This commitment to continuous learning brought their team to Shanghai to participate in the V-Clamp training. Representing their ever-growing team of veterinarians with diverse specialties, the training delegation included four esteemed doctors: Dr. Ine Meuwis, Dr. Tom Hendrickx, Dr. Lukasz Branica, and Dr. Tom Hendrickx.

Dr. Ine Meuwis graduated with high distinction from Ghent University (UGent) in 2002.She has got her CSAVP (Certificate of Small Animal Veterinary Practice) in soft tissue surgery in 2020. Her Areas of Interest includes Soft tissue surgery, Thoracic surgery (e.g., PDA, persistent right aortic arch, lung torsion, lung tumors, etc.), Oncological surgery, Laparoscopic (assisted) surgery, etc.Dr. Tom Hendrickx graduated in 2000 and spent three years working in a veterinary clinic in the Netherlands. His primary focus is on internal medicine and diagnostics (ultrasound), particularly cancer medicine (oncology) and heart and lung patients (the “coughers”). He completed training in cancer biology and medicine at the University of Birmingham. In addition, Tom serves as a board member of the Belgian Cancer Fund for Animals, the Cooperative Veterinary Cancer Centers, and the European Society of Veterinary Oncology (ESVONC).Dr. Lukasz Branica graduated in 2016 from Ghent University, specializing in companion animals. He has completed several internships both domestically and abroad. His main areas of interest include internal medicine, cardiology, and neurology.Dr. Michelle Lhomme graduated with high distinction in 2015 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ghent. In 2024, Michelle earned her Certificate of Small Animal Veterinary Practice in soft tissue surgery, awarded by the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) in Luxembourg. Her Areas of Interest includes Soft tissue surgery, Thoracic surgery, Oncological surgery, Laparoscopic (assisted) surgery, Follow-up of hospitalized patients, etc.
